Can Hypnotherapy help with Depression?

Depression is a mood disorder that can have a debilitating effect. It affects how you think, feel and behave, and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical symptoms, including hopelessness, rumination, loss of appetite and insomnia.

In order to understand where depressive disorders come from, we need to look back through evolution; as in early primitive times, the primitive part of our brain is always on the lookout for danger because its job is to keep us safe and ensure our survival. This takes place on a subconscious level. So if we perceive potential danger in the form of stress over a prolonged period, we can respond in the way of early primitive man: we retreat back into our “cave” and don’t interact until the danger has passed.

Hypnotherapy will help you to address negative patterns of thinking and feeling, and you will be able to take back control of life.

What clients are saying:

“I started hypnotherapy with Larissa to help with my depression which had worsened over lockdown and in response to family issues. Larissa put me at ease very quickly and was brilliant at explaining the brain and its functions to me. I started the first session feeling really low and with little enjoyment of things in my life. By the end of the course I felt so much better, happier, enjoying things more and able to be so much more positive about everything, even during challenges. I honestly didn’t think it would make as much difference as it did and would recommend anyone who is struggling to give it a go. Hypnotherapy for me was a powerful experience and I am so grateful for the way it has enhanced my mood and life.”
